The era of manuscripts and handwritten texts is long gone. Nowadays, norms revolve almost exclusively around printed matter, thus the act of reproducing texts by hand seems fully absurd. Halfway between ancestral practices and contemporary technologies, the question of automated calligraphy arises, substituting hand gestures with mechanical ones. Using a CNC pen plotter to reproduce texts, this restrictive and slower method has an impact on the perception of books as an object or as the container of information. It influences its notion of scarcity, preciousness, and accessibility.
