Block

Bitcoin is Blockchain, right?

While everyone has heard of blockchain, few people know what it is. Are you one of the many people that want to learn about it but don’t know how or where to start? We’ve brought together everything there is to know in one interactive installation. «Block» provides you with the knowledge you need to start your personal blockchain journey. Emerging technologies can potentially change how we interact and relate to each other by disrupting economic and social systems or even by transforming our concept of identity. «Block» has emerged from acknowledging the need to explore these changes and create resources to increase comprehension. It is an interactive installation that allows exploring Blockchain to understand the technology and its application.

Interview Baran Güneysel & Gian-Carlo Huber.

«The project ‹Block› provides a unique context for accessing and discussing information about Blockchain technology. The exhibition setup allows for an understanding of very complex connections between different elements and concepts related to this technology. Furthermore, the design process allowed the authors to reveal the hidden connection between various aspects of Blockchain technology.» – Excerpt from the supporting statement of the Subject Area Interaction Design

«In our work, we do what developers don't dare to do. We try to provide explanations and create entry points for potential new users by focusing on their questions, uncertainties and assumptions.» – Baran Güneysel & Gian-Carlo Huber

«The megatrend of digitalization doesn't stop at anyone, but it seems to be a kind of high-speed train where you either find the right boarding point or are simply left standing alone. There seems to be very little interest in reaching out to those who have been left alone to bring them on board. Our approach is different. We use Block to meet users where they are at and make it possible for them to understand the topic of blockchain without any previous knowledge.» – Baran Güneysel & Gian-Carlo Huber
