«Kloppyssimo» is an experimental musical toy which invites players to have a try. Using simple machines, they can compose complicated musical scenery in a playful way. Chaotic NPCs also populate this world. They add another layer to this game which enables players to switch between observation and interaction.
Sebastian Burckhardt has demonstrated an impressive bottom-up approach in this project. The end result – a visual, gamified music synthesizer – was nowhere near fully planned at the beginning. Instead, Sebastian kept experimenting with principal game mechanics and strategies of actuation and transformation, until, gradually, the subject of an entertaining music-making kit evolved. The final, remarkable quality of the game facilitates a free, completely informal and highly interesting engagement with rhythm-based music. – Excerpt from the supporting statement of the Subject Area Game Design

«I will either work together with others in our own studio, work independently on my projects, or find a suitable studio with a working method similar to mine.» – Sebastian Burckhardt
